Stock Control:

Stock needs to be counted, the level at which stock should lie needs to be determined. Stock needs to be ordered on a weekly and monthly basis as necessary. Weekly reports on stock levels must be compiled and sent to the appropriate people.

Feeding Rosters

Planning of feeding rosters. Establishing of feeding patterns for each individual animal in the facility. Updating feeding rosters on a weekly basis and as necessary.

Feeding Animals

Feeding animals as well as overseeing feeding of animals. Know when and how animals feeding needs to be changed.

Enrichment Projects

Design and upkeep of enrichment projects and animal activities.

Upkeep of Reporting System

Reporting to the necessary authority about the activities, problems, feeding, medicating, maintenance, and enrichment.

Writing a detailed informative log on each animal for future use.

Enclosures.

Know what enclosures which animals need. Design enclosures for animals as necessary. Upkeep and cleaning of enclosures. If needed assist in building enclosures, cages and bomas.

Rehabilitation Activities

Rehabilitation of animals and animal enclosures. Exercising animals and encouraging natural behavior. Introducing animals to each other for companionship.

Training and Coaching

Teaching new staff and students what needs to be done how and what the SOPs and P&Ps are.

Legislation

Know about legislation of a facility. Know the policies and procedures (design them if need be). Understand and follow rules and regulations. As well as organizing and maintaining permits for animals and procedures in the facility.

As and when they change needs to keep up with changes.

Maintenance

Maintenance of enclosures, watering systems, buildings, paths, drains, stock and tools.
